Why YOU Should Consider a Raw Foods Diet

My name is Misha and I love raw foods. Why? Well, let me tell you my story.

About a year ago, I was feeling constantly run down, tired, and generally out of sorts. I tried nearly everything people suggested. I tried exercising more, I tried eating more whole foods, I tried taking supplements like iron pills. My doctor couldn't find anything wrong, and suggested I just sleep more. Well, that did not work either.

Then a friend who I have always admired for her energy and enthusiasm for life suggested I read this book called Eating for Energy. It's written by this well know nutritionist, Yuri Elkiam, and it literally changed my life! I had always poo-poo'ed raw food diets as fads or extreme eating for fringe health nuts. But after reading this book which was chock full of scientific information and great arguments for why eating raw is best from an evolutionary and nutritional standpoint, I figured what the hell. And given the many easy raw food diet recipes Yuri provides (a HUGE bonus itself, since many raw food books I've read since have recipes that can take hours - even days - to prepare) and his 12 week transitional plan, I figured what the hell - what do I have to lose?

Literally within a WEEK I started seeing huge changes! My energy level shot up, and my skin started glowing! I could see a lot of "interesting" changes happening with my digestive functions as well (all for the better, but I'd rather not go into that here!). I have now been on a mostly raw foods diet for nearly a year now (I do occasionally eat cooked food when with friends or in restaurants, or when I simply have the hankering for some special food), and I sincerely believe it to be the best thing I have ever done for my health!
